The King and Queen of Lancre are proud of their new baby and want to invite everyone to the christening. Unfortunately they DO invite everyone, including a family of vampires just waiting to expand their reach into a new area. Their only worry? Granny Weatherwax.

But Granny has problems of her own and she's not feeling her best. Don't worry, in this time of trouble a new hero steps up, the Right Reverend Mightily Oates arrives for the christening. He'll be able to help Granny and the other witches. That is, if he can keep from burning them at the stake.

"Carpe Jugulum" is the final book in the Discworld Witches story arc. From here Granny and the Lancre witches will be found only as background characters in the Tiffany Aching stories.
